Haircut Update: I needed one before going on this trip, and haven’t gotten
one since. I don’t know how to manage my hair anymore; I used a “hairbrush”
Weather Report: Too hot; over 100°F.
Our Airbnb is on the top floor of the building. It’s quite high up!
Following Vikram’s friend Kishore’s recommendation, we stopped by Sant’Eustachio Il Caffè for the world’s best espresso. The crema on top was mixed with sugar somehow and was spectacular.
Turns out the coffee place was a block from the Pantheon . We took some pictures outside for a few minutes before continuing to a city sightseeing tour bus stop.
Next stop was at the Trevi Fountain. Unfortunately the fountain was under construction and didn’t have water in it.
We got on a bus and saw a lot of Rome.
Here’s our approximate route:
We got off the bus at St. Peter’s Basilica.
To get into the basilica we had to wait in a humungous line:
While waiting, entertainment was provided by two ladies arguing for 40 minutes. It got quite emotional (for them). They got kicked out by some security guards after one lady started pushing the other’s face.
Inside the basilica
Climbing the dome
The views from the top were amazing!
And now a bunch of pictures of us making the trek back down:
I found my name on a wall while coming down. I didn’t do it!
I took some pictures halfway up on the way down.
The pizza we got had very soft crust. I’m pretty sure they gave me a pizza different to the one I ordered, but it was still good.
Then we went to sleep at 10 PM, exhausted (many stairs). This Airbnb has airconditioning!
